New Year, New Fixtures

Hopefully you've all had a restful and relaxing festive period off, and maybe even during all of your festive celebrations you managed to visit the racecourse once or twice, or at least kept up to date with all the racing action that's been going on since we last blogged nearly a month ago. Most notably over the jumps we've seen Silviniaco Conti capture the King George VI at Kempton and Hurricane Fly break the world record for most Group 1 wins, obtaining his 18th at Leopardstown last month, and whilst the winter season is comparatively quiet for flat racing, the All-Weather Championships have been making their mark on the calendar, providing hot competition and valuable prize money around the courses, even featuring on Channel 4 Racing after the cold snap and flooding got to a number of racecourses last week.

We've been very busy here over the winter period, hosting a couple of festival racedays, a number of All-Weather Championship fixtures and we even managed to get in a jumps fixture this week amongst the nationwide flooding issues that have hit many of the country's racecourses. We have a few days break now before our next meeting on Tuesday but the action comes thick and fast afterwards with no fewer than seven meetings before the month is out.

Check out a couple of crowd pictures below from recent weeks - were you one of our festival racegoers?
